For Nick Schneider, the evening of August 8 at Dells Raceway Park became a remarkable milestone in his racing journey. Although the night began with some challenges, Schneider’s No. 26 car felt unusually tight during practice, making corner exits somewhat difficult—an essential adjustment before qualifying set the stage for an unexpected and thrilling turn of events.
An adjustment following practice helped turn the night around for Nick Schneider and the No. 26 at Dells Raceway Park.
As the qualifying rounds progressed, Schneider showcased his determination and skill, improving on each of his three laps. Ultimately, he recorded an impressive time of 14.116 seconds, securing a second-place starting position, just 0.033 seconds behind the fastest qualifier, Tanner Berge.
In the six-lap Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash, Schneider's talent shone brightly as he advanced from fifth place to finish second behind Pete Moore. Feeling increasingly confident in his car's performance, he eagerly anticipated the feature race.
Schneider worked the No. 26 through traffic as he made his way toward the front.
Starting in sixth for the 25-lap Lefthander Performance NASCAR Weekly 602 Outlaw Late Model feature, Schneider quickly recognized that the path to success included various racing lines. With strategic maneuvering, he made substantial Progress and, with nine laps remaining, surged into second place, setting his sights on the race leader, Alex Ruedinger. Even amidst the intense competition, Schneider found his rhythm, recording his fastest lap of the feature—a remarkable 14.417 seconds—on lap 20, and closing in on the leader.
With just four laps to go, Schneider executed a decisive pass for the lead and skillfully pulled ahead. Just moments later, the checkered flag waved to signal his victory: Nick Schneider emerged triumphant at Dells Raceway Park! He crossed the finish line ahead of Ruedinger, Brad Warthan, Brian Johnson Sr., and Tanner Berge. This remarkable achievement marks his very first feature win at Dells, a gratifying moment for a driver in his inaugural full season at the track. This accomplishment follows closely on the heels of another significant milestone: his first fast qualifier award just one week earlier.
Throughout his seven features in 2026 at Dells Raceway Park, Schneider has continually impressed with six Top-5 finishes, seven Top-10 finishes, one fast qualifier, and now a feature victory. This win has also catapulted him within just 15 points of the championship lead.
The essence of this special evening was perhaps best captured through Schneider's reflections two days later. The official recap from Dells Raceway Park shared his heartfelt sentiments, highlighting his lifelong dream of winning a Late Model feature—a dream that felt tantalizingly close throughout his career. This victory was indeed a moment worth celebrating, embodying the perseverance and passion that define Schneider’s journey in racing.

What did we learn?
Patience paid off.
The No. 26 wasn't perfect Saturday.
It was too tight in practice. An adjustment helped before qualifying. By feature time, it had moved slightly to the loose side.
But Nick didn't need perfect.
He needed a car he could race—and the patience to put it where it needed to be.
Starting sixth meant there was work to do, and Schneider couldn't depend on a single groove to get through the field. He adapted, picked his opportunities, and kept moving forward until only Ruedinger remained.
Patience and adaptability proved just as important as speed as Schneider worked the No. 26 toward the front.
Then, with four laps to go, he finished the job.
That's an important step in Schneider's first full Dells season.
The consistency was already there. Seven features have produced seven Top 10s and six Top 5s.
Now there's a win to go with them.
And with only 15 points separating Schneider from the championship lead, consistency has turned into something bigger:
a championship fight.

There's not much time to celebrate.
On Friday, August 14, the No. 26 returns to Madison International Speedway for Fink's Paving Championship Night—and Nick Schneider enters as the driver everyone else is chasing.

Double features.
Two races remain to determine whether Schneider can turn a season that has already produced five Madison victories into another career first: a Madison International Speedway championship.
Qualifying begins at 6:15 p.m., with racing at 7:30 p.m. Championship Night will also feature Kunes Hometown Night, a Classic Car Parade and a gigantic fireworks display presented by Skyline Fireworks.
One week after earning his first Dells feature win, the Wild Child heads to Madison with a championship on the line.
Two features. A 37-point lead. One championship to decide.
